Renzo Piano. The Power of the Archive | English version (2018)

A plunge into the Fondazione Renzo Piano archives in the midst of sketches, models and renderings all housed in 3000m2 of a reconverted factory in Genoa, which reflect the architect’s identity, thoughts and his manner of planning. A place of experimentation, the archives are the metaphor of a sea port, where materials come and go, and contribute something new. In addition to the accounts of the Archive curator, we also hear the voices of Renzo Piano, Milly Rossato Piano and Lia Piano retrace the genesis of some projects such as the Palais de Justice and the Centre George Pompidou in Paris, the Manhattanville Campus at Columbia University, the Morgan Library and the New York Times Building in New York.
